ORThis Friday night an earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale was recorded near Rio Maior, in the Santarém district. According to data from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the phenomenon occurred at 10:08 p.m.
The Institute also revealed, in a statement posted on the official website, that “the epicenter was located about 10 kilometers north of Río Maior.”
Until the note was written, he added, “no information has been received to confirm that this earthquake has been felt.”
However, on the IPMA page on the social network Twitter, several users stated that they felt the earthquake in regions such as Alcobaça, Alenquer or Cadaval, among others.
