This Thursday, Madeira registered 97 new cases of covid-19, 95 of which refer to local transmission. The other two cases were imported from Germany and the Czech Republic.
On the other hand, there are 92 recovered cases, which represents 3,601 cases recovered in the region since the beginning of the pandemic.
Thus, today’s figures represent 1,875 active cases, of which 74 people are hospitalized at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital (68 people in Polyvalent Units and 6 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19) and 36 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit. As for the rest, they stay in their own accommodation.
There are also 3 people diagnosed with covid-19, from the continent (Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region), who remain in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19, at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, since last December 30. January. .
Adding that the health authorities are studying 228 new situations, which are related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or SESARAM.
Regarding the active surveillance of cases of positive contacts, 2001 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo.
