4-2 victory for the dragons on matchday 14 of the championship.

This Saturday, FC Porto defeated Benfica 4-2, the match on matchday 14 of the roller hockey championship. The team led by Guillem Cabestany went on to add 29 points, in third place, leaving the eagles to six, although they have one game less (12/13).

In a very balanced first half, Benfica goalkeeper Pedro Henriques played a leading role with various defenders, preventing the “dragons” from reaching the break to win.

FC Porto, who came in with a slight lead, had the first big chance in the five minutes, when Reinaldo García, in a quick counterattack, shot hard at Benfica’s goal, but Pedro Henriques denied the goal.

The ‘dragons’ opened the scoring at 18 minutes, with a well-placed shot from Ezequiel Mena that did not give the “red” goalkeeper a chance.

In the next minute, Pedro Henriques stood out again, defending a strong shot from Italian Giulio Cocco.

At this stage of the match, FC Porto stepped up the pressure, not allowing Benfica to climb onto the pitch. However, in the last seconds, the ’embodied’ reached equality with a goal from Lucas Ordoñez.

In the second half, the home team entered better and benefited from the inspiration of Gonçalo Alves, who once again put Porto ahead after 32 minutes of an individual play.

The same player, very effective, shortly after increased the advantage by taking a direct free kick.

FC Porto took advantage of the Lisbon team’s mistakes and scored the fourth goal, through Carlo Di Benedetto.

Alejandro Domínguez called for a timeout to try to organize the Benfica team and, in the last minutes, he managed to make that happen.

Benfica was much more pressing, focused and trying to reach, at least, a draw.

In this sense, Diogo Rafael still managed to lower the result but it was insufficient to cancel the advantage of the Porto players who achieved the ninth victory in the championship.

Game played at Dragão Arena, in Porto.
