The Portuguese presidency of the European Union kicks off this Friday with the success of the vaccination against covid-19 and the economic and social recovery of Europe among the priorities, Prime Minister António Costa said in a message on Twitter.

During the next six months, Portugal will lead the European Union, committed to the success of vaccination and economic and social recovery in Europe,” the Portuguese Prime Minister wrote in a social network publication Twitter, launched today.
Recalling the motto of the Portuguese presidency – “It is time to act: for a just, green and digital recovery” – António Costa listed “three fundamental priorities”.

The last of the listed priorities is to strengthen the “strategic autonomy of a European Union open to the world”.
That is why it is time to act together as a community of values and shared prosperity ”, defended António Costa.
