PSP Warning for New Years Eve: “Don’t be surprised by the police visit”

The authorities have tried to dissuade economic agents from holding illegal parties.

This Thursday, December 31, the duty of curfew and the prohibition and circulation between municipalities for the New Year are already in force. After a Christmas with more margin, there are many restrictions for these days, starting with parties.

Public parties are prohibited and the PSP will be on the lookout for signs of illegal parties. On the “TSF” antenna, the mayor Nuno Carocha, spokesman for the PSP, admits, although he is planning a party outside the restrictions: “Do not be surprised by the police visit.”

PSP stresses that it trusts “the trust and willingness of the Portuguese to compress the rules” but will not cease to be aware. In recent days, by the way, the PSP has already contacted “some economic agents” who have expressed their intention to organize New Year’s parties on social networks, in order to “degrade” them from the idea and inform them on current regulations.

Traffic controls are expected to emerge, but there will also be surveillance in areas of large cities, which traditionally tend to be the place where many people gather on New Year’s Eve. To respond to this year’s challenge, and although this year, Predict any concentration of crowds, the number of police will be the same as last year, highlights the “Public”.

Although vaccination plans have already started, the rules aim to continue fighting the spread of Covid-19. 2020 was a particularly challenging year as a result of the pandemic. Goodbye to this year and a welcome to 2021 will reflect the same care.

If you still have questions about what you can or cannot do these days due to restrictions, NiT has created an article to help you find your way.
