The operation to find the missing tourist on Tuesday in a wooded area of Calheta, Madeira Island, was permanently suspended today, the municipality’s fire department said, referring that the case was passed to the PSP.
“We attacked the entire area without success and the case now goes to the Public Security Police,” the commander of the Calheta Volunteer Firefighters, Jacinto Serrão, told the Lusa agency, clarifying that the searches were suspended around 4:00 pm .
