A 16-year-old was placed in preventive prison after being arrested, on the spot, in a scheme in which he combined the purchase of objects advertised on the internet, but ended up robbing sellers, sometimes with violence.
As announced by the Regional Attorney General of Lisbon, the young man was arrested in the act in mid-December “for the practice of two crimes of aggravated theft, one crime of aggravated theft in the tentative form and a crime of violence after the abduction” .
According to the evidence collected, the defendant, in November, decided to appropriate the goods that were advertised on the Internet (OLX, Facebook) for sale, beginning to select the advertisements of the objects that interested him, contact the advertisers, mark a face encounter to face for the purchase and, resorting to intimidation and / or physical violence, ended up appropriating the goods and monetary values of the sellers.
The defendant was subject to the coercion of preventive detention, due to the danger that criminal activity will continue, but this measure will be replaced by an electronic bracelet “as soon as the necessary conditions are met and it will be verified by the General Directorate of Reintegration and Penitentiary Services “. says the attorney general.
The investigation continues under the direction of the Cascais Public Ministry, the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of the West Lisbon District.
