There are three more deaths and 57 new cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve, according to data from the bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) of this Monday, December 28, which has just been released.

The Algarve thus has a total of 68 deaths and 7169 registered cases, in accumulated figures since the beginning of the pandemic.
In Alentejo there were two deaths (196 accumulated) and 101 new cases (10,346, since March).
At the national level, and in a similar way to what happened on Saturday and Sunday, the daily increase in cases is again relatively low, compared to what has been usual: 2,093 more infected with the new virus.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 396,666 cases of Covid-19 have been diagnosed.
Even so, there are currently more active cases, although only 99 (68,307 in total). This is because 1,936 people recovered from the disease, fewer than the new cases reported. In total, 321,682 people across the country have already won Covid-19.
Regarding deaths, 58 were registered, bringing the accumulated total to 6677. In addition to the deaths reported in the Algarve and Baixo Alentejo, there are deaths in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (20), in the North (19) and in the Center (14).
The number of people hospitalized rose again and stood at 2,967 (plus 97). In intensive care, there is now one less patient (503 in all).
The situation in the different regions is as follows: North (203,492, plus 907), Lisbon and Tagus Valley (127,846, plus 669), Center (44,615, plus 296), Alentejo (10,346, plus 101), Algarve (7169, plus 57), Azores (1722, plus 29) and Madeira (1476, plus 34).
Today there are 93,136 surveillance contacts, 2,093 more than in yesterday’s bulletin.
