Couple arrested for disobedience after refusing curfew

The PSP arrested in Viseu, at 03:30 hours last Thursday, a woman and a man, aged 39 and 33, respectively, for being “Suspect of the commission of crimes of crimes against physical integrity qualified as agent of authority, injuries, threats and disobedience”.

According to a note from the District Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) of Viseu, released on Monday, the arrests occurred after the alert of “A disorder between several citizens”, including the two suspects, who “We were warned” to go home, “Since they did not present any kind of justification for being on public roads outside the hours allowed for people to stay / circulate on public roads, decreed by the state of emergency”.

An hour later, “Both suspects remained on the public highway without again presenting justification, being alerted to the illegality of their conduct”but “They did not comply with the mandatory curfew orders in force for which they were arrested for the crime of disobedience”, refer a PSP.

“During the course of the arrest, the suspects adopted a hostile posture with insults, threats and attacks on the police officers”adds the PSP, adding that “A policeman had to receive hospital treatment”.

The detainees have already been notified to appear before the Viseu Judicial Court.
