The Autonomous Region of Madeira registered 35 new cases of coronavirus infection this Saturday, according to the daily report of the Regional Health Directorate. There are 12 imported cases (3 from the Lisbon Region, 3 from the UK, 3 from France, 2 from Germany and 1 from Switzerland) and 23 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with contacts or case contexts previously identified positives. Epidemiological investigations are still ongoing.
In this way, RAM now counts 1,464 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the regional territory. Today there are 17 more recovered cases to report, so there are now 458 active cases.
The report from the Regional Health Directorate confirms that there is one more death to report, which is why RAM now counts, to date, a total of 12 deaths associated with Covid-19.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, 62 people are isolated in a hotel unit, 369 in their own accommodation and 27 people were hospitalized yesterday at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, 25 in the Multipurpose Unit and two in the dedicated Intensive Care Unit to Covid- 19.
At the close of yesterday there were 104 new situations that were being studied by the health authorities, all related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM. The respective epidemiological investigations were ongoing.
