The External Consultation Center, an area normally dedicated to external consultations, will be dedicated to the operation, taking advantage of a space that is free on Sundays.

According to the same source, “the Information Systems Service has created a specific solution for calling, registering and monitoring the process, which will allow online data on the development of the operation.”

CHUSJ’s Pharmaceutical Services “will work every Sunday, preparing the doses to be administered, according to the consumption to be made in each position.”

The vaccination operation of health professionals at Hospital de São João has the support of the Occupational Health Service to answer questions, evaluate possible adverse reactions, in conjunction with the Clinical Pharmacology Unit of the same hospital.

The Immunoalergology Service will be responsible for “dealing with allergic reactions”, while the Intra-hospital Emergencies team will have the mission of monitoring “serious reactions”.

The presence of elements from the Porto Ocidental Health Center Group is also expected to “support electronic vaccination records”, with “reinforcement of internal security, from the place of preparation in the pharmacy to the places where vaccines are administered.”

“In an operation with associated risk, it is intended that the system works in a very agile and effective way, so the plan immediately foresees contingency measures in case any of the sectors or areas have limitations, so that the process does not be suspended ”. adds CHUSJ, who will have “a crisis cell installed in the directory, to monitor the entire operation online.”

The director of Urgencies and Intensive Care of São João says that the hospital is already prepared for the start of vaccination.

Nelson Pereira considers this to be a simple act.

A vial of vaccine can be administered to more than one user. The Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Pedro Soares, guarantees that they will do everything possible to avoid waste.
