The first vaccines against covid-19 in Portugal arrived this Saturday at the São João Hospital, in Porto.

Also this Sunday, Marta Temido will visit the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto, followed by Coimbra.
On Monday, the minister will control vaccination in the Lisbon region, at Curry Cabral and Santa María hospitals.

Between Sunday and Monday, around 25% of the professionals at the Central Lisbon Hospital Center will be vaccinated, but many more responded that they wanted to be vaccinated.
The vaccination will be carried out at the vaccination posts created in the São José and Curry Cabral hospitals. The administration will be in charge of nurses from the Occupational Health department.
Hospital Santa María is also ready to start the vaccination campaign. The vaccines are already inside the hospital and will begin to be administered at 10:30.
In this hospital there are eight vaccination posts and the goal is to cover 1,610 health professionals, in a period of three days.

The São João Hospital and University Center (CHUSJ), in Porto, plans to vaccinate 2,000 professionals on Sunday, will have 25 vaccination posts and “a great team of nurses” dedicated to the operation, a hospital source said today.
“It will be a very complex and demanding operation, which will take about 10 hours [das 10:00 às 20:00] , with 25 vaccination posts throughout the period, encompassing a large team of nurses ”, says the information sent to the Lusa agency by a source from the CHUSJ.
In what will be the first day of the national vaccination plan against covid-19, which will be organized at the Hospital de São João with the presence of the Minister of Health, Marta Temido, in this hospital center in Porto they should be vaccinated “more 2,000 professionals “on Sunday.

The vaccination operation of health professionals at Hospital de São João has the support of the Occupational Health Service to answer questions, evaluate possible adverse reactions, in conjunction with the Clinical Pharmacology Unit of the same hospital.
The Immunoalergology Service will be responsible for “dealing with allergic reactions”, while the Intra-hospital Emergencies team will have the mission of monitoring “serious reactions”.
“Even volunteering, in support of coffees, teas and cookies, will provide support,” reads the same information that specifies that the hospital parking lot will be open to employees all day, allowing vehicles to be parked for free, while “the Communication has created an approach to raise awareness and inform employees”.
The presence of elements from the Porto Ocidental Health Center Group is also expected to “support electronic vaccination records”, with “reinforcement of internal security, from the place of preparation in the pharmacy to the places where vaccines are administered.”
“In an operation with associated risk, it is intended that the system works in a very agile and effective way, so the plan immediately foresees contingency measures in case any of the sectors or areas have limitations, so that the process does not be suspended ”. adds CHUSJ, who will have “a crisis cell installed in the directory, to monitor the entire operation online.”
The director of Urgencies and Intensive Care of São João says that the hospital is already prepared for the start of vaccination.
