Vaccination against covid-19 begins in Portugal this Sunday. The vaccine is free and optional and will be administered according to priority groups already established by the health authorities.
The day the first vaccines arrived in Portugal, the The government launched an Internet portal, in order to clarify the citizens and answer the most common questions. At the same time, a simulator that allows each citizen to know when they will be vaccinated. Not the exact day, of course, but which group you fit into and what time of year the vaccine is scheduled to be administered.
The page only establishes a prognosis and does not allow to mark the vaccine. What will happen is that, at the scheduled time for the vaccination of your group, you should receive an SMS asking if you want to be vaccinated or not. If you answer “no” or do not respond, we will not tell you again. If you answer “yes”, you must be contacted later to schedule the specific date of administration of the vaccine.
OR The first batch of vaccines against covid-19, developed by Pfizer-BioNTech, has already arrived in Portugall, to the Coimbra area, and were escorted by the Republican National Guard (GNR).
The Minister of Health described this moment as a “Historic brand” in a year “so hard”, but he recalled that the Portuguese cannot forget that we are in winter and that there are still “a great fight to do”.
It is a historical milestone for everyone, it is an important day after such a difficult year for the majority, for the Portuguese, for Europeans in general, when it was so difficult to deal with so much uncertainty, when it was difficult to have to deal with so many new circumstances and so many sacrifices have been requested. Now a window of hope opens with a vaccine that is expected to help us fight the disease next year, without forgetting that we are still in the beginning of winter. There is still a great fight to do, but now there is an opportunity and a hope that results from the new vaccine.
