“It was a shock when I found out that my ‘brother’ had died.” The words are from Manuel Santos, who was a friend of Matheus, since the 57-year-old Brazilian singer went to live with his family in Recarei, in Paredes.

Matheus, his wife Fabiani and their children – Lara, 16, and Matheus Júnior, 11 – have lived in Recarei since August 2019. “He was a beloved and humble person. Despite being a public figure, he was not superior to anyone”, Manuel Santos said with tears in his eyes.
