Leiria region with nine more deaths and 207 infections – Leiria Region

Six counties in the region have recorded a total of nine deaths since yesterday. The data released at the end of the day by the local health authorities indicate the occurrence of three more deaths in Leiria, two in Nazareth, one in Queen syrup, one in Peniche, one in Pombal and one in Porto de Mós.

Thus, the total number of deaths associated with Covid-19 in the district of Leiria and the municipality of Ourém amounts to 198 since the beginning of the pandemic.

In the last 24 hours, 207 people still tested positive and 192 recovered, so active cases increased again (six more than yesterday). This balance includes the update of the last five days of the epidemiological situation of the five municipalities that are part of the Group of Health Centers of Pinhal Interior Norte (ACES PIN).

Today new cases are registered in the 17 counties of the region. Leiria the number of new infections increased (58), followed by the municipalities of Queen syrup (29), Great Marina (twenty), Pombal (sixteen), Porto de Mós (13), Alcobaça (eleven), Alvaiázere, Ansião me Peniche (9 each), Figueiro dos Vinhos (8), Battle (7), Ourém (6), Bombarral (4), Castanheira de Pera me Pedrógão Grande (3 each), Nazareth (1) e Obidos (1).

The 192 recoveries registered since yesterday are divided between Leiria (Sixty-five), Pombal (39), Queen syrup (22), Ourém (twenty-one), Marinha Grande (13), Porto de Mós (eleven), Obidos (6), Battle (5), Alcobaça (4), Ansião (3), Nazareth (2) e Alvaiázere (1).

To date, 8,596 cases of infection with the new coronavirus have been registered in the region and 6,543 recoveries. Active cases are today at 1,855.

The death toll rises again in Portugal

Since yesterday, Portugal counted 89 more deaths associated with Covid-19, bringing the total registered since the start of the pandemic to 6,343.

In the meantime, more than 4,602 people have tested positive regarding the balance of the General Health Directorate yesterday, Tuesday, 383,258 have been confirmed at the national level for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The recoveries amount to 308,446, of which 3,621 were indicated since yesterday. With fewer recoveries than new cases of infection, active cases also rose again to a total of 68,469 this Wednesday (plus 892).

The number of hospitalized patients falls to less than 3,000, with 2,990 hospitalizations of people with Covid-19 registered (105 less than yesterday), of which 511 were in intensive care (three more).
