According to the bulletin of the Regional Health Directorate on the epidemiological situation of Covid-19, the Autonomous Region of Madeira today has a total of 42 new positive cases.
There are 17 imported cases (9 from the United Kingdom, 3 from Venezuela, 2 from Mexico, 1 from the Netherlands, 1 from Angola and 1 from the Lisbon Region and the Tagus Valley) and 25 cases of local transmission in their country. mostly associated with contacts or contexts of previously identified positive cases.

The bulletin also adds that today there are 28 more recovered cases to report, so the region now has 931 recovered cases of Covid-19. In terms of deaths, RAM has so far counted a total of 10 associated with the pandemic.
Until December 22, 2,749 notifications of suspected cases of Covid-19 were registered in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, of which 1,460 were not confirmed.
As for active cases, these are now 348, of which 110 are imported cases and 238 are cases of local transmission.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, 36 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 289 in their own accommodation and currently 23 people are hospitalized, 22 in the Polyvalent Unit and 1 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to Covid-19.
The statement sent by the Ministry of Health also highlights 145 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, all related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
Contacts made to the SRS24 line (800 24 24 20) now total 22,917 calls, plus 345 calls in the last 24 hours.
Regarding the active surveillance of contacts of positive cases, 1,940 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo. Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 22,097 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
Regarding the PCR tests for the screening of Covid-19 carried out in RAM, it should be noted that in the context of the passenger screening operation in the ports and airports of Madeira and Porto Santo, there is a cumulative total of 130,661 harvests per analyze. covid-19 remained until 8 pm today.
