The body of the young man disappeared after a building in central Lisbon collapsed on Sunday after an explosion was found early Monday morning.

The information was confirmed to TVI by the Lisbon Sapadores Firefighters, who said that the body was found at 2:45 this morning.

According to information released by the municipality on Sunday, there were indications that the missing youth was 24 years old.

At this point, the search work on the site, on Rua de Santa Marta, is already completed.

The explosion of the building left five injured, one seriously.

Nine people were displaced and another 47 had to be removed from the buildings next door.

Lisbon city councilor Carlos Manuel Castro admits that the explosion may have occurred as a result of a gas leak. The facade of the building was completely destroyed, leaving the building without habitability conditions.

The explosion that occurred in a building in front of the Hospital de Santa Marta did not affect any hospitalization services, having only caused material damage to the facade, that is, broken glass, window frames and damaged doors.
