Setúbal’s PSP arrested a man who dumped a stolen car in Austria on a section of the city’s railway during the escape of a police patrol. The train circulation on the Sado Line was interrupted.
The vehicle aroused suspicions in the PSP at 20:20 on Saturday, when the driver of the vehicle was filmed refueling without paying at a pump located on Rua da Cerâmica. The alert is launched, a patrol car detects the vehicle at 9:10 p.m., in another part of the city, and a discreet pursuit advances.
In the Fontainhas area, the driver encounters a Rapid Intervention Team van moving in the opposite direction. The man with the Austrian license plate swerved, destroying a rail access fence. The car was immobilized on the rails, prompting PSP to request CP to order the cut off of railway traffic on the Sado line.

The driver was eventually arrested. He had to receive hospital treatment for minor injuries. The vehicle was seized by the PSP.
