Sapadores Lisbon firefighters fight the fire. There are five victims to report

A fire in a four-story building in the center of Lisbon this Sunday caused a serious injury and four minor injuries, which were transferred to the São José hospital.

The fire broke out after an explosion in the building located at Rua de Santa Marta, number 41/42. The explosion caused the building’s facade to collapse. The fire is active on two floors, on the 2nd and 3rd.

They were sent to the Sapadores de Lisboa site, INEM and PSP.

Firefighters are on the scene fighting the flames, supported by five vehicles.

The warning was given at 7:50 am.

The inhabitants of the building have been evacuated and neighboring buildings are being evacuated by the authorities.

Nine people lived in the collapsed building and authorities are looking for two who have not yet been located.

The cause of the explosion appears to be related to gas.

Part of the building’s facade fell onto the public road on top of the cars.
