This Thursday, Madeira registered 18 new cases of covid-19. We are talking about 5 imported cases, 4 from the United Kingdom and 1 from Poland and 13 of local transmission, associated with contacts or contexts of previously identified positive cases.
Among the new positive cases, it should be noted that 5 are from the Health area, 4 being hospitalized patients and 1 health professional identified in the field of in-hospital screening carried out at SESARAM.
There are also 32 more recovered cases to be reported, so the Region now has 816 recovered cases, with 307 active cases now. These still active cases are 72 imported and 235 for local transmission.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, 35 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 253 in their own accommodation and currently 19 people are hospitalized, 18 in the Polyvalent Unit and 1 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19.
The authorities are studying 129 new situations related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM.
Regarding the active surveillance of cases of positive contacts, 1,986 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo. Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 12,103 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
