“Based on the reevaluation of the epidemiological situation in the country, the Council of Ministers updated the list of risk counties, kept the rules previously defined for the Christmas period and proceeded to increase the measures for the New Year period”, read in the statement of the Council of Ministers.

Thus it was decided that at Christmas there will be free movement between municipalities and that restaurants will be open on the nights of December 24 and 25 until 1 in the morning.

On New Year’s Eve, contrary to what was foreseen, circulation on public roads will be prohibited from 11:00 p.m. on December 31 and on January 1, 2 and 3 from 1:00 p.m.

In addition, the prohibition of circulation between municipalities will remain in force between 00:00 on December 31, 2020 and 05:00 on January 4, 2021, except for health, urgent or other specifically foreseen reasons.

The opening hours of the restaurants, during this period, will be reviewed throughout the continental territory, establishing that, on December 31, operation will be allowed until 10:30 p.m.; and on January 1, 2 and 3 until 1:00 p.m., except for home deliveries.
