Azores with 25 new boxes and 70 active transmission chains

On the island of São Miguel, of the 23 positive cases, 16 are related to previously identified transmission chains; four are the result of three new chains identified in São Miguel (one in Ribeira Grande, with two elements and another two in Ponta Delgada and Vila Franca, with one element each); There are two positive cases to evaluate and one case refers to a resident, with a history of traveling abroad, having obtained a positive result on the sixth day.

On Terceira Island, the new positive case is related to previously identified transmission chains.

In Faial, the new case concerns a non-resident who tested positive on the sixth day.

56 recoveries in the last 24 hours

There were 56 recoveries, 11 on Terceira Island (nine in Angra do Heroísmo and two in Praia da Vitória); 45 in São Miguel (one in Lagoa, 11 in Ponta Delgada and 33 in Ribeira Grande).

16 Hospitalizations

There are 16 people in the hospital, nine in the Hospital do Divino Espírito Santo in Ponta Delgada (one of them in the ICU) and seven in the Hospital de Santo Espírito on Terceira Island (two of which in the ICU).

70 active drive chains

The Azores have 70 active transmission chains, 49 on the island of São Miguel, a shared chain between São Miguel and São Jorge, and 20 active transmission chains on the island of Terceira.

To date, 34 transmission chains have been extinguished, one of which in the last 24 hours in Lagoa, in São Miguel.

372 active positive cases

There are currently 372 active positive cases, 272 in São Miguel, 99 in Terceira and one in Faial.

To date, 1,614 cases of infection with the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes the Covid-19 disease, have been detected, with 21 deaths and 1,136 recoveries.
