The former director of the CDS-PP Nuno Moreira passes away

Former mayor and former CDS-PP leader Nuno Lima Mayer Moreira, son of former centrist president Adriano Moreira, died Wednesday at age 47, “the victim of a sudden illness,” the party said.

Nuno Lima Mayer Moreira was a member of the National Supervisory Council, having also been a member of the National Council and the National Council of Jurisdiction of the CDS.

In the 2017 municipal elections, he was a candidate for the Ajuda Parish Council, in Lisbon, where he was mayor in the parish assembly. In the last legislative elections, he topped the CDS-PP list in the Braganza circle.

Through a publication on the social network Facebook, the party’s president, Francisco Rodrigues dos Santos, assures that he received the news of the death of Nuno Moreira “with deep consternation and sadness.”

“Nuno was a man seriously committed to his very certain values, militantly in love with worthwhile causes, with an elevated, dignified and simple way of sharing with others,” he underlines, also stressing that he was “a militant leader and self-righteous to the test, imbued with contagious energy and delivery ”.

In a vote of regret that entered the Assembly of the Republic, the deputies of the CDS-PP remember Nuno Lima Mayer Moreira as “a person of affable treatment and strong convictions”, a “good man and a personality strongly marked by Democracy Christian “.

“He leaves to those who lived with him the memory of his joy, his generosity, his availability, his willingness to help and to do”, writes the parliamentary group, also underlining that “he was always a committed militant of the CDS, and of all those who they contacted him and could witness his contagious enthusiasm ”.

In the text, the party expresses “deep regret and consternation” over the death of Nuno Lima Mayer Moreira and offers its condolences to the family, “with a heartfelt hug to the sister”, the socialist deputy Isabel Moreira.

Nuno Lima Mayer Moreira “had a degree in History and a postgraduate degree in Portuguese Culture, was a professor, university assistant and self-employed, and is currently a senior archive technician at the Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Lisbon,” recalls the parliamentary group, noting that ALMA also presided – Mayer Association of the Arts of Lima.

Also on social networks, the former CDS leader Assunção Cristas lamented the death of Nuno Moreira, “in such an abrupt and disconcerting way”, a person with “always contagious enthusiasm and joy”.

“We were together in all the electoral battles of that period,” he says.

“From Nuno, I will always remember his dedication to the public cause and to the CDS, from the beginning, in 2017 in the passionate way in which he embraced the candidacy for the Board of Freguesia da Ajuda and then the dedication in fulfilling his mandate as a parish elected, and yet in 2019, in the generosity with which she headed the Bragança list, although it would be an unlikely choice ”, emphasizes Assunção Cristas.

“I owe you friendship, unconditional support, permanent loyalty. Your love will endure and my gratitude will too,” he adds.
