“His transfer to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital in Porto is being considered, due to the critical state in which he is,” he said.
In addition to the 12-year-old boy, another boy, 11 years old, was attacked in the light vehicle today at the Lampejão level crossing, Moledo and Cristelo parish, by an interregional train that linked Valença and Viana do Castelo. and a 35-year-old woman.
“The seriously injured person, who was in the back seat of the car, is friends with the 11-year-old boy in the front, along with his mother, the driver of the car. Mother and son were not injured, but the woman was transferred to the Viana do Castelo hospital to receive psychological assistance, ”said the GNR source.
That source added that “GNR is investigating the causes of the accident, as well as Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP), which transferred a team to the site.”
Contacted by Lusa, an IP source guaranteed that “both the sound signals and the mechanism that triggers the level crossing barriers worked”.
