Several officials of the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) spoke about what happened to Ihor Homeniuk, the Ukrainian citizen who died on March 12 at the SEF facilities at Lisbon airport, in a WhatsApp group.

Correio da Manhã launched this Tuesday various messages from the group, which included dozens of employees. According to the newspaper, these messages are part of the case for Homeniuk’s death, and the Judicial Police had access to the conversation through a security guard.

By exchanging messages, it becomes clear that several people found out what happened and they did nothing about it. “The man was handcuffed too tightly and lost circulation in his arms. In addition to having pissed me off, “reads one of the messages.

Another employee writes that “it was not the fault of SEF”: “I thought it was something that any of us had done (…) But it wasn’t the fault of either of us, thankfully. Let it be the fault of others ”.

Look, this is it. (…) They killed the guy, ”says another participant from the WhatsApp group.

This case resulted in the resignation of the director of the SEF, Cristina Gatões, nine months later and sparked a controversy in the political sphere, with the resignation of the Minister of the Interior, Eduardo Cabrita, who will be heard this Tuesday in Parliament.
