Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa regretted this Sunday the death of António Doce, the PSP run over in Évora while trying to stop the crime of domestic violence.

“It was with deep consternation that the President of the Republic learned of the death of Principal Agent António José Pinto Doce, victim of a brutal outrage while carrying out his mission in Rossio de São Brás, in Évora. Another national example of someone who, not even in service, he gave his life for his neighbor and to whom Portugal owes tribute ”, reads a note on the website of the Presidency.

In the same note, it is indicated that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has already spoken personally with the agent’s widow, “also directing his deepest condolences to his children, family and friends, as well as to the Public Security Police, whose National Director receives this afternoon in Belém, and in particular at the Évora District Command, where António José fulfilled his daily mission “.

António Doce was killed by a prison guard while trying to stop the crime of domestic violence.
