«GOAL AND VICTORIA NOT VALID

União Desportiva Oliveirense, Simoldes – Hockey em Patins is incredulous and deeply outraged by Vitor Hugo’s failed goal in the last seconds of the first half of the match against SL Benfica that gave access to the 1947 Cup final.
It was on the morning of this Saturday, December 12, 2020, at the Pavilhão Municipal do Luso, that the possibility of playing the final this Sunday was withdrawn because we scored 4 goals against 3 of our rival, so the victory should have been attributed to Oliveirense, but someone judged differently:

1 – It is unanimous that the ball entered the goal and even hit the crossbar audibly, and in a game behind closed doors the sound of the ball hitting the crossbar became more noticeable.

2 – The Oliveirense players shouted a goal, the other referee saw that it was a goal, the other two referees realized that the ball had entered, but the referee understood that the ball did not enter. The referee was alerted to the error he was making, but kept reading the play and did not score a goal.

3 – The coaches and the Delegate to the Union party insisted and appealed to common sense when reading the play, but were ignored. In addition, the invited public realized that it was a goal and even our rival, after the end of the match, admitted that the goal should have been validated. Highlight for the narration of the challenge broadcast live on A Bola TV, which was perpetual and reiterated that it was a goal, as shown in the broadcast images.

4 – União Desportiva Oliveirense, Simoldes – Roller hockey considered abandoning the challenge and not taking the field for the second half as a form of protest. We decided to go to the game in the name of sporting truth and the pride we have in the sport we play. Also, our respect for the Portuguese Skating Federation and our opponents brought us back on track.

5 – We are concerned about the decisions that match after match discredit sport and call into question the dedication and professionalism of our club: athletes, coaches and managers. We openly say that roller hockey deserves better refereeing, more rigor in observing and evaluating the referees’ work, greater demands on those who go to a rink to face a challenge.

6 – We demand that the FPP and the Refereeing Council intensify the effort they have made to make the refereeing more transparent so that it rises to the level of the main protagonists who are the players of the “Best World Championship”.

7 – Our investment is enormous and in view of what has happened in this modality over the years, we affirm that either those who govern Portuguese roller hockey change the behavior of some sports agents, or Oliveirense will seriously rethink the investment you do in this mode. .

8 – We will continue fighting for sports truth, for transparency and quality in refereeing. We cannot remain silent and we must protect and defend our athletes and coaches who, day by day, fight for the colors of the União Desportiva Oliveirense ».
