Tondela coach, Pako Ayestarán, warned this Friday of the importance of avoiding “the burden” of conceding goals in the first minutes of the match with FC Porto, scheduled for Sunday, the fourth day of the Portuguese Cup.

“The first minutes will be very important. We cannot allow goals in the first three, five, ten minutes, because it is a very heavy weight to get around the Dragon and, from there, what I expect from the game is that each of us, involved in the game, we fulfill their duties ”, said Ayestarán.

In this sense, he admitted that Tondela must be prepared for a “very intense first minute of FC Porto”, as happened a week ago, when the two teams faced each other, also at Estádio do Dragão, counting for the ninth day of the I League, in which the dragons won 4-3.

“We are working on the defensive and offensive aspect, but it is also true that each game is different and this one will be different from last week’s game and, of course, sometimes you are more assertive and sometimes less (…). We hope that in this game we will have more balance between attack and defense, ”he said.

Ayestarán, admitted that Tondela “has to risk more, because it is to win or win” and even if it reaches the penalty shootout, “there is always a question of luck that can fall, who knows, next to the team that”. He didn’t even play the best game. “

The coach took part in a press conference for the preview of the match of the fourth day of the Portuguese Cup, on Sunday, at 6.30 pm, at Estádio do Dragão, but recalled the incidents of the last match with the Porto club.

“The referee whistled, refereed the game, the players who played and the bench directed the game and cheered on their team, because sometimes the field was empty and it gave me the impression that I was full of noise. FC Porto did it. For a moment, it gave the impression that they wanted to whistle the game and the referee is there to referee, “he said.

Ayestarán considered that “it is not true that what is louder and louder is what is right,” he admitted that everyone is wrong, including himself in that category. “We may not agree with the referee’s decisions and, perhaps, we do not express it adequately, but it cannot be in each play, because when each play is the intention is different and it is simply not to agree,” he said.

Faced with this situation, the Tondela coach considers that “it is about influencing the referee”: “We all know that it is not the same whistle in the [Estádio do] Dragon or not [Estádio] João Cardoso, since it is not the same to referee in [Estádio Santiago] At the Bernabéu or at Levante ”, compared Ayestarán, referring to the Spanish League.

The Spanish coach considered that “it is not fair that the competition of the referees gives more advantage to FC Porto”, since “it already has a better squad” and that “is already an advantage” in the field.
