The death of the Ukrainian citizen who died after being attacked by three SEF inspectors at the Lisbon airport has been one of the most controversial issues in recent months. And in the last week it ran even more with the resignation of the director of the SEF and the words of the widow Oksana Homenyuj, in an interview with SIC Notícias, who assured that she had not received any support from the Portuguese State, after the death of her husband .

Eduardo Cabrita announced, this Thursday after the Council of Ministers meeting, that the State will compensate the widow and two children of the Ukrainian citizen, who died at the SEF facilities at Lisbon airport. However, Oksana says that she only believes in support when she receives the money, in an interview with TVI, and recalls that she had to spend 2,000 euros on the transfer of her husband’s body from Portugal to Ukraine. “I live alone with two children,” said the woman.

Yesterday, the widow had admitted that she had never imagined that a situation like Igor’s death could happen in Portugal. And today she confessed that she is afraid to travel to the country and that is why she will not attend the trial for the death of her husband. “I am afraid to go to Portugal, I don’t know what can happen to me,” he said.

It is recalled that Igor Homeniuk was violently attacked – eventually dying – by 3 SEF inspectors, after refusing to return to Turkey from where he had traveled. Luís Costa da Silva, Bruno Valadares e Sousa and Duarte Laja were accused of qualified homicide by the Public Ministry.
