The alleged links between the investment fund Doyen and the Judicial Police, exposed this Thursday in the Rui Pinto trial, had already been denounced by Ana Gomes last year. The candidate for the Presidency of the Republic confirmed to the PUBLIC that after visiting Rui Pinto in prison in April 2019, he denounced the emails exchanged between Inspector Rogério Bravo and the investment fund lawyer, Pedro Henriques.
“I did this exhibition with the confirmation of Rui Pinto. Even in Hungary, he had said that there were elements of the PJ that “were made” with Doyen. When I first visited him in prison, I asked him who those elements were. So I made a presentation saying that it was necessary to investigate ”, confirmed Ana Gomes.
This exchange of correspondence can be investigated again, after the court has sent a certificate to a case on the subject that had already been presented. After following the usual procedures, it was considered that “there was nothing to explore,” recalls Ana Gomes, who did not proceed with a new investigation. This presentation was addressed to the Attorney General of the Republic, Lucília Gago, and to the National Director of the PJ, Luís Neves.
The first time that Rui Pinto made reference to an eventual secret connection between PJ and Doyen was in Hungary, at the hearing in which the Hungarian Justice decided to extradite to Portugal. “Can Doyen say what he wants, especially if elements linked to Doyen have clandestine meetings with PJ inspectors who are not even part of the process? This is very serious. And when do we see PJ inspectors use personal emails to talk to Doyen members and treat them almost like friends? Is the prosecutor investigating this? Do not investigate, ”said Rui Pinto in Budapest.
The complainant guaranteed that the electronic correspondence in his possession involved high command of the Judicial Police, considering that these contacts showed that the investigation was carried out in a “completely irregular” manner.
This Thursday, the panel of judges in charge of the trial of hacker Rui Pinto opened the door to the investigation of the actions of the Judicial Police in the case. Football leaks, ordering the extraction of a certificate, which will be sent to a process that had been filed and destined to find out if any inspector of the Judicial Police acted criminally in the context of this case.
In the sentencing session, the former investment fund lawyer, Pedro Henriques, revealed that the PJ indicated in 2015 the name of a journalist who could help Doyen reveal an alternative version of the events that were disclosed on the website. Later, Doyen’s former lawyer also revealed that Inspector Rogério Bravo suggested a proposal to him, which was then effectively sent on Doyen’s behalf to the Attorney General’s Office.
