A 29-year-old man died Tuesday after being stabbed in the back next to the Arroios market in Lisbon, following a disagreement, the PSP news agency told Lusa.

According to the Lisbon Metropolitan Command (Cometlis), the stabbing occurred on Rua Ángela Pinto, at 10:54 a.m., and the death was declared inside a cafe, where the victim went to ask for help.

It was a disagreement between two people that involved a knife, one of whom was stabbed in the back “the Cometlis source said.

Still collecting information on the case, the PSP said the suspect was arrested on Avenida Almirante Reis after an escape attempt. Police said they were waiting for more information on the suspect.

To Lusa, a police source added that the Judicial Police (PJ) has already been sued for being a crime of homicide.

At approximately 2:34 p.m., the crime scene was preserved by police forces and with security tapes.

The Judicial Police were there to carry out the investigation. I do not know if the body was removed or not, I know that colleagues [PSP] are still there “said the Cometlis source at 4:00 p.m.

The investigation of the crime is now in charge of the PJ.
