The president of Vasco da Gama is being pressured to advance the dismissal of the Portuguese coach, says Globoesporte.

If the situation was no longer famous for Ricardo Sá Pinto in Vasco da Gama, it was drastically aggravated with the strong defeat on Sunday, against Grémio de Porto Alegre, by a strong 4-0.

The club requested a police reinforcement with a view to arriving in Rio de Janeiro, fearing the anger of the fans, but the protests were not confirmed and the departure from Tom Jobim International Airport was smooth.

The atmosphere in Vasco’s backstage, in turn, is more delicate, writes the Globoesporte portal. Alexandre Campello, president of the historic emblem, is being pressured to pass on the resignation of Sá Pinto. After underlining the confidence in the coach before the game with Grémio, the situation may now become “untenable”, the Brazilians say.

Sá Pinto’s position at the helm of Vasco da Gama should be evaluated this week, at a time when the team occupies the 17th position of the Brasileirão (first place in the relegation zone) and has already been eliminated from the South American Cup.

The 48-year-old Portuguese coach has just two victories in 12 official matches at the helm of Vasco. There are also five draws and five losses.
