Almost all of Greater Lisbon no longer has a mandatory weekend curfew
Only four municipalities maintain this more restrictive measure due to the continuous high risk.
Only Lisbon and Loures keep the measure.
On the next two weekends, December 12 and 13, but also on December 19 and 20, in almost the entire metropolitan area of Lisbon, it is no longer forbidden to drive on public roads on weekends from 1 p.m. . The measure only applies to municipalities with very high and extremely high risk. In the review of counties on Saturday, December 5, many were removed from the list.
In the Lisbon district, only the capital and Loures maintain a curfew on weekends. Amadora, Oeiras, Cascais, Sintra, Odivelas and Vila Franca de Xira became high risk, since they decreased in the number of accumulated cases. The measure covers more than one million inhabitants.
On the southern shore, in the Setúbal district, only two very high-risk municipalities remain. They are Barreiro and Almada. Seixal and Setúbal are also no longer limited to circulation during the coming weekends, as they went down to high risk.
In addition to the Lisbon metropolitan area, other counties in the country are also witnessing a decrease in the number of accumulated cases and the consequent easing of measures in the coming days.
The new state of emergency comes into effect on Wednesday, December 9. This Saturday the 5th, António Costa presented the Christmas and New Year’s measures, which may be reviewed on December 18.
