Mick Schumacher (Prema Racing) was crowned Formula 2 champion at the last Grand Prix of the year at Sakhir. In the last race of the year, Carlin made a double, with Jehan Daruvala ahead of Yuki Tsunoda.

Great race in Formula 2 title decision With Mick Schumacher and Callum Ilott (Uni-Virtuosi Racing) in third and fourth place, in the first half of the race, the fight was on fire. In the first few corners, Schumacher locked his wheels and ‘burned’ his tires. There was still some time ahead of Ilott, but when the Briton overtook Schumacher, the German decided to go to the pits to put on another set of tires.
Laps later, Ilott also started to run out of tires, having been overtaken by Guanyou Zhou (Uni-Virtuosi Racing) and Robert Shwartzman (Prema Racing), thus dropping to seventh. However, the British driver failed to take seventh position and even finished the race in tenth position, thus giving the title to Schumacher.
At the head of the race, Daruvala and Dan Ticktum (DAMS) fought wheel to wheel for the lead, with the Indian leading the way. At the end of the race, Ticktum lost second position to Tsunoda, giving Carlin a double on a weekend in which the team was always ahead of everyone.
In the final interview, Schumacher was a very emotional driver: “It’s great to be a champion. If I had a good race it would be better, but I am champion and I owe everything to my team. They are great people ”.
