The list of municipalities with very high and very high risk goes from 127 to 113 municipalities, maintaining the prohibition of circulating on public roads from 1:00 p.m. on the next two weekends, the Government reported today.
Integrating only the Portuguese peninsula, the update of the distribution list of municipalities by risk level will come into effect from Wednesday to December 23, under the new state of emergency to respond to the covid-19 pandemic.
For municipalities with extremely high and very high risk, the Prime Minister, António Costa, said that the ban on circulating on public roads continues from 1:00 p.m. on the weekends of December 12 and 13 and from December 19 to 20, being in question is the duty to collect between 13:00 and 05:00 the next day.
In addition to these measures, these 113 municipalities are subject to the measures already in force and that are maintained for high-risk municipalities, such as the prohibition of circulating on public roads between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. on weekdays (in high-risk cases, this schedule also works on weekends).
In November, the executive had already divided the continent’s 278 municipalities into four groups, according to the level of transmission risk: moderate, high, very high and extremely high.
In updating the risk map, at a press conference, António Costa revealed that there are 27 municipalities with very high or high risk that go to moderate risk, due to a “frankly positive evolution in the last fortnight”.
In general, there are less 12 municipalities with extremely high risk, from 47 to 35; minus two at very high risk, going from 80 to 78; six more at high risk, increasing from 86 to 92; and eight more of moderate risk, going from 65 to 73.
