Yesterday Lidl opened a new store in Braga, on Rua Américo Rodrigues Barbosa, in Infias S. Vicente, the third in the municipality and number 260 of that distribution chain in Portugal.

In a statement, the company points out that the opening of the new hypermarket created 24 more jobs, and that Lidl already employs 69 workers in the Braga municipality.

The mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio, attended the opening of the store.

Lidl announces that it will donate food baskets to two nearby IPSS: Asilo São José, which provides support in nursing homes, and Centro Cultural Parroquial de São Vicente, which helps children, each with about 100 beneficiaries.

Built from scratch, with 1430m2, the new Braga-Infias store offers, according to the company’s statement, “a modern and pleasant space, with all the comforts for your daily and weekly purchases and easy access to products and services, innovative products and High quality at the best price “.

The construction considered the rehabilitation of the surrounding sidewalks, as well as the lane inherent to the lot. The fractionation infrastructures were also rehabilitated, the public transformation station was replaced and new infrastructures were installed in terms of sewage and rainwater drainage.

Lidl points out that “the new store has an innovative architectural design, wide corridors, a high ceiling and a fully glazed facade, which gives natural light to the interior. It also has innovative services such as the freshly squeezed orange juice machine, the bread slicer and a cod cutting area, which allows all customers a service more adapted to their taste and needs ”.

Until December 31, for each proof of purchase with Deluxe item / s made by customers of this store, € 0.20 will be delivered to entrepreneurial projects selected in the ‘More Help’ program, so that they can develop and implement new solutions of social support to the community, for one of the most fragile sectors of the population: the elderly.

The new Lidl store in Braga-Infias also offers a car park of around 145 spaces, with bike racks and two spaces for charging electric vehicles.

“Reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, the use of LED lighting was also privileged. The store is also equipped with a solar panel to heat sanitary water, as well as infrastructure for photovoltaic panels ”, highlights the hypermarket chain.

The new store is open every day from 08:00 to 21:30.

In Portugal for 25 years, Lidl has approximately 7000 employees, distributed in 260 stores, from north to south of the country, and four regional stores and warehouses, in addition to the headquarters: Famalicão (North), Torres Novas (West), Sintra. (Center) and Palmela (South).
