A source from the Castelo Branco District Operations Command informed the Lusa agency that the access roads to the central massif of the Serra da Estrela are cut off this Friday morning. According to the same source, at 9.20 am, only the Covilhã / Piornos section was passable.
Traffic is prohibited on the sections Piornos / Junction of Tower, Junction of Tower / Tower, Junction of Tower / Lagoa Comprida, Junction of Lagoa Comprida / Sabugueiro, Junction of Sabugueiro / Gouveia / Penhas Douradas / Manteigas and Manteigas / Covilhã.
