The Portuguese hopes to fight regularly for podiums in 2021, a time when KTM can evolve.

“I feel prepared to fight for the title,” Miguel Oliveira told Rádio Comercial yesterday, during a round of interviews about his epic end to the MotoGP season.

The next one will start on March 28, 2021, in Qatar, and the Portuguese will be the main KTM rider, inheriting the technical team of Pol Espargaró, who switched to Honda.

Oliveira remembers that “we will continue with the technical package that we have and we can make some changes, which is good for us.” KTM, although it can still make some evolutions, will lose part of the privileges – such as the possibility of doing more tests – due to the two victories of Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder, with whom it will form the duo that shone in Moto2.

“It will be a very competitive season, but I think I am more prepared to constantly fight for podiums and victories,” says the Almadense, recalling that the RC16 “is competitive on all circuits.” Meanwhile, KTM solved the problem it had with Tech3, which will lose Red Bull sponsorship. The beverage company is expected to maintain global support – nine million euros, according to “Speedweek” – which will help the satellite team.
