Sérgio Conceição’s team is in the 4th round of the Portuguese Cup, after beating Fabril, this Saturday, in Barreiro, by two unanswered goals. Toni Martínez opened the asset with class, seconds before the halftime whistle sounded, while Taremi, at 51, closed the account.

The only surprise reserved for this challenge from the queen of Portuguese football was the short advantage achieved by the Blue and Whites. FC Porto dominated, goalkeeper Diogo Costa had little to no work to do, but the attackers did not always reveal the desired goal when it came to aiming at the opposing goal.

After the competitive stop, due to the commitments of the different teams, Sérgio Conceição took advantage of the work he was doing with the players who stayed at Olival. The case of Otávio, one of the two starters who initially played against Fabril -the other was Manafá-, who was watching in an exemplary way the no less brilliant goal of Toni Martínez.

A sinuous shot from the Spanish striker, who was also the entire stop with Sérgio Conceição, and the ball into the net. FC Porto took the lead in the last gasp of the first half, but many opportunities had been left behind. Toni Martínez was the 13th FC Porto player to score this season and this was his first goal for the Dragons.

The main role was destined for reinforcements and Taremi did not refuse to be happy. The Iranian striker, who asked to leave the national team to stay at Olival to burn through stages of adaptation and fight for the title, extended the advantage of the Blue and Whites, in the 51st minute, shooting the ball that left the feet of Felipe Anderson, winger in the pass. Brazilian who is in the dragons on loan from West Ham.

Until the end, Sérgio Conceição started to throw in some regular players and although the team created some clear opportunities, the scoring stopped working.
