Circulation between municipalities will be prohibited between November 27 and December 2 and between December 4 and 9, the Prime Minister announced today.

António Costa said it would be forbidden to move between municipalities between 11 p.m. on November 27 and 5 a.m. on December 2 and 11 p.m. on December 4 and 5 a.m. on December 9.

This measure was announced at a press conference held after the ministerial council to decide new restrictions to contain the covid-19 pandemic.

The Prime Minister added that during this period, movement between municipalities will be prohibited, except for exceptions already applied in similar situations, such as commuting to work.

“During the period of validity of this state of emergency, we will have two holidays, on December 1 and 8, both on Tuesdays, and which often invite the existence of bridges that generate large traffic throughout the country. If there is something that we are aware of, the more we travel, the greater the risk of carrying the virus and, therefore, it is necessary to limit circulation, ”said António Costa.

The current state of emergency due to covid-19 began on November 9 and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, with a second period that runs until December 8.
