The leaders of Vitória de Setúbal issued, this Saturday, a statement in which they react to the statements of the mayor of Setúbal.

«Today, and before the statements of the Honorable Mayor of Setúbal, the Board of Directors of Vitória Futebol Clube (VFC) has to offer the following:
1. The current Board and other governing bodies of the Club won, due to the democratically expressed will of the members of Victoria, a fair and regular election in accordance with the Club’s historical scrolls;
2. It has already been noted that the presidency of the Executive presided over by the Honorable Madam President was that another list had won the electoral act, but these are consequences of democracy and the voice of the Victorian people is sovereign as regards the destinies of the VFC. ;
Still,
1. As a minimum, CMS and its President owe institutional respect to HRV, its Governing Bodies, its Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Board;
2. VFC and CMS are also partners and partners in the VFC SAD where 40% of the capital stock still in the hands of CMS requires, at least, a joint determination of responsibilities between the Chamber and the Club, by collecting the minimum necessary information , articulation of strategies, design of solutions and joint attempt to implement them in that limited liability company;
3. Câmara and VFC are the majority shareholders of VFC’s SAD with a central role in the search for solutions and the search for the truth and both have joint responsibilities in the destiny of SAD;
4. However, this Directorate only assumed its functions a few weeks ago;
5. The Executive of the City Council chaired by the President has been in charge of the CMS since 2006 and from that moment, with action or inaction and although perhaps with good will, Mrs. President Dr. Maria das Dores Meira, was part of the decisions that put SAD do VFC and the Club in this situation;
6. At least since 2008 (ie 2 years after the current CMS President took office) that VFC SAD has accumulated loss after loss, millions after millions, reaching a ridiculous accumulated value of almost 50,000. € 000.00 (fifty million euros), dragging the Club into the difficult situation it is in and its pre-bankruptcy where it is;
7. However, this Board has a plan in progress and a prior understanding of a solution to make the Club viable. It has already been made known not only to the other VFC governing bodies but also to the Victorian Council, which deserved unanimous approval;
8. For the first time in the history of the Presidency of the Honorable Mrs. Dra. Maria das Dores Meira, the current governing bodies have not only not taken possession of the City Council, but they have not yet been formally received, despite several requests made in various ways and through different channels;
9. It is not the citizen Paulo Rodrigues who requested the hearing. He is the President of the Board of Directors of the VFC legitimately democratically elected in accordance with the Club Statutes;
10. It is not the citizen Paulo Rodrigues who has a solution for the Club that he wants to present and discuss with Dra. Maria das Dores Meira. It is the President of the VFC Directorate who wants to present it, discuss it and implement it together with the CMS so that, duly aligned, we can work in the search for a solution to a problem to which this Directorate has not contributed anything … much to the contrary ;
11. Everything, but literally everything, has been done to torpedo the work that this Directorate and the other Governing Bodies must carry out;
12. That we already knew that we would have to deal with opposition movements of some people who have passed through here and who are petrified to death because of what has already been discovered and that we are still going to discover, we had no doubts;
13. What this Directive was not prepared for is the total lack of institutional respect and respect towards those who, today, like the President or not, represent the HRV and work hard and daily to save the Club;
14. Regardless of the value judgment (although it is erroneous and probably the result of “he says he said” because they never met) or the personal taste that the citizen Maria das Dores Meira has for the citizen Paulo Rodrigues, for the good and the salvation of the HRV, it is important that the CMS President receives the VFC Directorate, listens to the possible solutions that are being worked on, so that together it is still possible to remove this noble and historic institution from the serious situation in which the they left the last addresses.
15. Thus, we reiterate once again, now publicly, the request for a hearing to the Honorable Madam President of the CMS in order to present the plan of salvation and viability of the VFC;
16. After the approval and joint implementation of the same, we will treat you, always jointly as capital partners and institutional partners of the destinations of SAD do VFC;
17. Regarding the inauguration of the Estádio do Bonfim by CMS, the current Board and its President congratulated the CMS and its President for this fact and we will be here next Tuesday for how the rules of good education are sent , in addition to welcoming city council employees, helping where possible and receiving a copy of the new keys;
18. We imagine that the hearing requested above could serve not only to present the Club’s salvation plan, but also to analyze, discuss and agree on the future conditions of use of the Estádio do Bonfim by VFC.
