More than 800 public employees belonging to risk groups have been identified to conduct home surveys of those infected with COVID-19.
In statements to TVI24The Minister of Modernization of the State of Public Administration, Alexandra Leitão, specified that of the total of mobilized employees, 500 are mostly senior technicians and 300 are Civil Protection agents.
In a first phase, Civil Protection agents have already been mobilized, who are expected to assume their functions by the end of the month, thus reinforcing human resources in a decisive area to contain the pandemic.
The order was published on Wednesday and specifies the conditions under which this hiring of officials is carried out, among whom are at home because they are part of risk groups against covid-19.
Most of the mobilized technicians are in prophylactic isolation or at risk and may not go to work, but only for 30 days, the minister explained.
