There are two more deaths in Leiria and one in Marinha Grande – Leiria Region

There are three more deaths to be recorded in the Leiria region due to complications associated with Covid-19. According to the daily balance of the District Civil Protection Commission (CDPC), two more Leiria and one of Great Marina, which brings to 76 the number of deaths registered since the beginning of the pandemic in the district of Leiria and municipality of Ourém.

Meanwhile, 112 more positive cases and 50 recoveries were diagnosed.

Leiria registers the highest incidence of infected patients, with 38 more cases in the last 24 hours. The following are the counties of Pombal with 21 more, Alcobaça (19), Porto de Mós (10), Great Marina (8), Peniche (6), Nazareth (5), Queen syrup (4) e Battle (1).

According to data released by the CDPC and several municipalities, the recoveries were indicated in Leiria (25), Great Marina (10), Peniche (5), Porto de Mós (3), Battle (3), Bombarral (2), Alcobaça (1) e Pombal (1).

In total, 3,885 positive cases were recorded, with a record 2,537 recoveries. Today active cases amount to 1,272 (plus 59).

Today’s CDPC bulletin does not present any data for the district’s northern five counties, stating that the data from the North Pinhal Interior Health Center Group “is not available.”

Portugal with 81 more deaths and 4,452 more infections

The number of deaths associated with Covid-19 rose to 3,553 this Tuesday, after 81 more deaths were registered in the last 24 hours (43 in the North region, 21 in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo area, 11 in the Centro, four in the Alentejo and two in the Algarve).

The daily balance of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) also points to 4,452 additional cases of contagion by the new coronavirus, bringing the total to 230,124 since the start of the pandemic.

The recoveries outnumbered the positive cases, with 7,290 recoveries recorded since yesterday. To date, 149,445 patients have been recovered.

This evolution caused a decrease in the number of active cases. With fewer than 2,919 active cases, today there are 77,126.

There are still 3,012 patients admitted to hospitals (12 less than yesterday), with 431 being followed up in intensive care units (five more).
