Military protest against direct election placements. Justified method with profitability of qualifications.
Many of the GNR sergeants who, last month, were placed in new functions and in different positions were directly elected by the General Guard Command, ahead of military personnel who had been waiting for a transfer for several years. JN knows that at least one lawsuit is being prepared to cancel the placements. The National Association of Guard Sergeants (ANSG) speaks of a “fraud” that will be a “fuse for demotivation and discord.” An accusation that refutes the GNR General Command, alleging that the law was complied with to “guarantee organizational balance” and monetize “personnel with qualified training.”
The figures show that, through the placement order signed by the GNR commander, Rui Clero, on October 20, six of the 16 sergeants-mores, 31 of the 53 sergeants-chiefs and 24 of the 35 sergeants- assistants were placed in new positions by direct election of the General Command. A fact that, for the ANSG, “distorted the merits of the military” and “subverted the legitimate norms and expectations of the military, who, in some cases, had been waiting for several years for a new position.”
