In the 11 counties of the region, Ourém is the municipality with the highest number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic, with 483 (+83) confirmed infections, followed by Entroncamento, with 292 (+14), Tomar, with 275 (+ 8), Torres Novas, with 218 (+3), Abrantes, with 206 (+2), Alcanena, with 101, Mação, with 49, Vila Nova da Barquinha, with 28 (+2), Constância, with 28 (+ 4), Ferreira do Zêzere, with 19 (+5), and Sardoal, with 17 (+1) accumulated cases since the start of the pandemic.
Currently, ACES Médio Tejo has 593 people under active surveillance (-49). Ourém has 141 citizens in this condition, followed by Tomar (113), Abrantes (92), Entroncamento (72), Torres Novas (58), Alcanena (43), Sardoal (22), Vila Nova da Barquinha (18), Constância (14) and Ferreira do Zêzere (10) and Mação (9).
This ACES registers a cumulative total of 1716 infected (+122), 739 recovered (+34), 593 people under active surveillance (-49) and 26 deaths (three deaths confirmed today in Abrantes but with complete data not yet updated by the ACES).
ACES PIS with 24 active cases in Sertã (+2) and six in Vila de Rei (+1)
At ACES in Pinhal Interior Sul (PIS), Sertã today has a cumulative total of 69 infected people (+3), of which 45 have already recovered from the disease, according to ACES PIS. Sertã has a cumulative total of 69 confirmed cases, of which 24 are active, and has 90 people under active surveillance.
Vila de Rei, for its part, has had 7 cases of contagion (+1) since the start of the pandemic, six of which are still active, reported ACES PIS. There are 7 people on active surveillance.

ACES Médio Tejo covers the territorial area of 11 municipalities with approximately 235 thousand users, and covers the health units of Abrantes, Alcanena, Constância, Entroncamento, Ferreira do Zêzere, Mação, Ourém, Sardoal, Tomar, Torres Novas and Vila nova da Barquinha , in a territorial area of 2,706.10 square kilometers.
The municipalities of Sertã and Vila de Rei are part of the Inter-municipal Community (CIM) of the Middle Tagus in the political-administrative division, but in terms of health, they are linked to ACES do Pinhal Interior Sul (PIS), which also covers the municipalities of Proença-a- Nova and Oleiros, in a total of about 30 thousand users.
Ponte de Sor has 35 active cases (+2), Gavião with 6 active cases
In Alto Alentejo, Ponte de Sor accumulates today a total of 69 positive cases since the start of the pandemic (+2). At least five of the cases refer to people who do not reside in the municipality and who have not updated their tax residence. The municipality only reports the occurrence of 64 cases, of which 35 are active (+2) and one death. Three classes were isolated at the Ponte de Sor and Montargil schools last week.
Gavião, in turn, has a cumulative total of 16 covid cases, with 10 people now recovered from the disease. There are six active cases in the county.
Lezíria region with 35 more cases, 49 recovered and one death in 24 hours
Lezíria do Tejo presents 35 new cases in the last 24 hours and a cumulative total of 2,597 patients, of which 985 cases in the municipality of Santarém (+13), according to data from the Regional Network. Today, Chamusca has a total of 87 confirmed cases (+3), including four deaths, and Golegã records 45 infections. The Lezíria region has 64 deaths (+1), 26 of which in Santarém, and 1,712 people recovered from the disease (+49).
Santarém district with a total of 4,313 cases, 2,451 recovered and 90 deaths
The Santarém district accumulates a total of 4,156 cases of disease (2,597 in Lezíria do Tejo and 1,716 in ACES Médio Tejo), and a total of 90 deaths (64 in Lezíria and 26 in ACES Médio Tejo). Lezíria do Tejo has a total of 1712 recovered patients and ACES Médio Tejo has 739, which gives a total of 2451 recovered people.
Portugal with 82 more deaths, new daily record
Portugal today registers 82 more deaths related to covid-19, the highest figure in a single day since the start of the pandemic, and 4,935 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus, according to the General Directorate of Health (DGS).
The DGS epidemiological situation bulletin indicates that since the beginning of the pandemic, in March, 3,103 people have died from covid-19 and 192,172 have already been infected, with 78,716 active cases, 1,378 more than those registered on Tuesday.
Of the 82 deaths registered in the last 24 hours, 44 occurred in the North region, 19 in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, 17 in the Center region and two in Alentejo. According to DGS data, the number of patients admitted to hospitals with covid-19 continues to increase. Another 43 people are hospitalized in the ward, totaling 2,785 and nine more in intensive care units, which adds up to 391 patients.
Health authorities have 89,107 contacts under surveillance, 956 fewer than Tuesday, and 3,475 patients were reported to have recovered in the last 24 hours, out of a total of 110,353 since the start of the pandemic.
The North region continues to be the one that registers the most new cases: 2,845 in the last 24 hours, with a total of 94,057, and has added 1,414 deaths since the start of the pandemic. In the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley, more than 1,185 new cases of infection were reported, which now represent 71,936 cases and 1,181 deaths. In the Central region there were 743 more cases of infection, representing a total of 17,759 cases and 389 deaths. In Alentejo, 44 new infections were registered, for a total of 3,685 cases and 71 deaths. The Algarve region today reported 80 more cases of infection, now totaling 3,638 cases and 31 deaths. In the Autonomous Region of the Azores, 21 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours, totaling 513 detected infections and 15 deaths since the start of the pandemic. Madeira registered 17 more cases in the last 24 hours, representing 584 infections and two deaths.
The new coronavirus has already infected at least 105,147 women and 87,025 men in Portugal, according to reported cases. Of the total deaths, 1,590 were men and 1,513 women, almost all over 80 years of age.
The covid-19 pandemic caused at least 1,275,113 deaths in more than 51.5 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a report by the French agency AFP. The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
