A strike, which runs from today until Friday, 13 November, was convened on 23 October and in statements to the Lusa agency that day, the president of the SindeporCarlos Ramalho, assured that he is sure that the population will be on the side of the nurses, who “have made many sacrifices over the years.”

“We maintain the intention of the strike, obviously there will be limitations, but we want them to be as limited as possible, that is, in the fight pandemic from COVID-19-19 “, said Jorge Correia, from Sindepor, at the end of an audience with the President of the Republic last week.

Jorge Correia stressed that the five-day break “is more than a strike, it is a cry of alert”, because the nurses “are tired, exhausted and unmotivated” and if there is consensus from society and political parties on the matterncia health professionals “it is essential that this is done in measures.”

The strike is called for the entire national territory, with exception of the autonomous region of Madeira.

According to the Sindepor, the union demands the thawing of professional progressions, the attribution of risk subsidies to all nurses and, being “a profession of quick use”, retirement at 57 years.
