Portugal enters a state of emergency as of Monday and with it comes a set of restrictive measures to slow down the number of new cases of Covid-19.
The new state of emergency will take effect between November 9 and 23. The main measures of this new reality are: compulsory collection, from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. in 121 regions of mainland Portugal, reduction of the hours of commercial establishments and restaurants at 10:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., measurement of body temperature, among others.

Can I do a walking tour?
Yes. A hygienic tour is possible at any time, in the area near your home. Physical exercise is also allowed.
Can I take a walk?
The pet walk is one of the exceptions to the time restrictions.
Does the trade close with a curfew?
The store will have to close during the time when it is prohibited to circulate, except for certain activities such as pharmacies (see infographics).
Can I have lunch in a restaurant?
The restaurants are open on the following two weekends until 1:00 p.m., including take-out service. After that time, only home delivery of meals is allowed.
How long are the measures in effect?
The declaration of the state of emergency lasts for 15 days, from 00:00 hours today until 23:59 hours on November 23.
Can I travel to another municipality?
It is possible, although residents of municipalities with the highest risk of contagion should stay at home. To travel, you must have an important reason.
Is there transportation during the collection?
Public transport will operate at the usual hours, in order to allow movements according to the exceptions provided such as work, education or health.
