Today there are 35 new cases registered in Alcanena, 5 in Ourém and 3 in Tomar, municipalities that are fighting against outbreaks in homes. The management of the Social Welfare Center of Minde, Alcanena municipality, confirmed today the existence of a Covid-19 outbreak in the homes of the institution, today with five users in Senior I and 21 users in Senior II and a total of 4 infected employees. In the 11 counties of the region, Ourém is the municipality with the highest number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic, with 389 (+5), followed by Entroncamento, with 271, Tomar, with 257 (+3), Torres Novas, with 193, Abrantes, with 190, Alcanena, with 99 (+35), Mação, with 49, Vila Nova da Barquinha, with 23, Constância, with 23, Sardoal, with 15, and Ferreira do Zêzere with 14 accumulated cases since start of the pandemic.

At ACES Médio Tejo, Ourém has 106 people under active surveillance, followed by Abrantes (92), Tomar (84), Alcanena (65), Torres Novas (60), Entroncamento (47), Sardoal (39), Constância (26) , Vila Nova da Barquinha (24), Mação (9) and Ferreira do Zêzere (6).

This ACES records a cumulative total of 1523 infected (+43), 705 recovered (-), 686 people on active surveillance (-128) and 23 deaths (data not updated by ACES).

ACES PIS with 21 active cases in Sertã and five in Vila de Rei

In ACES in Pinhal Interior Sul (PIS), Sertã has this Sunday an accumulated of 66 infected people, of which 42 have already recovered from the disease, according to ACES PIS. This Sunday, Sertã presents a cumulative total of 66 confirmed cases, of which 21 are active and 112 are under active surveillance.

Vila de Rei, for its part, has had 6 cases of contagion since the start of the pandemic, five of them active and 5 people under surveillance, ACES PIS reported this Saturday. With about 250 thousand inhabitants, the 13 municipalities of the Middle Tagus add a total of 1592 cases (+43) confirmed of contagion by the new coronavirus (1523 in ACES Médio Tejo and 69 in ACES Pinhal Interior Sul – 63 in Sertã and 6 in Vila de Rei), 748 people recovered (705 in ACES Médio Tejo, 42 in Sertã and 1 in Vila de Rei (ACES PIS) and 23 deaths.

ACES Médio Tejo covers the territorial area of ​​11 municipalities with approximately 235 thousand users, and covers the health units of Abrantes, Alcanena, Constância, Entroncamento, Ferreira do Zêzere, Mação, Ourém, Sardoal, Tomar, Torres Novas and Vila nova da Barquinha , in a territorial area of ​​2,706.10 square kilometers.

Gavião, in turn, accumulates a total of 15 cases, having registered five new infections at the end of October, four of which with citizens residing in the parish of Comenda and one with a firefighter resident in Gavião, these cases are still active. These five cases were joined by another contagion on Thursday, with nine people recovered from the disease and six active cases in the municipality.

Lezíria region with 23 new cases and 2 deaths in the last 24 hours

Lezíria do Tejo has today a cumulative total of 2389 patients (+23), of which 901 cases in the municipality of Santarém, according to data from the Regional Network. Chamusca has a total of 79 confirmed cases, including four deaths, and Golegã records 44 infections. The Lezíria region accumulates 60 deaths (+2), 26 of which in Santarém, and 1,570 people recovered from the disease (+27).

The Santarém district accumulates a total of 3,912 cases of disease (2,389 in Lezíria do Tejo and 1,523 in ACES Médio Tejo) and a total of 83 deaths (60 in Lezíria and 23 in ACES Médio Tejo). Lezíria do Tejo has a total of 1,570 recovered patients and ACES Médio Tejo has 705, which gives a total of 2,275 recovered persons.

Portugal with another 48 deaths and 5,784 cases of contagion

Portugal today counts another 48 deaths related to covid-19 and 5,784 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS).

Since the start of the pandemic, Portugal has registered 2,896 deaths and 179,324 cases of infection, with 76,647 active cases, 3,702 more than on Saturday. The DGS indicates that of the 48 deaths registered in the last 24 hours, 27 occurred in the northern region, 14 in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, four in the Center region, two in Alentejo and one in the Algarve.

Of the total deaths, 1,485 were men and 1,411 women. The highest number of deaths is still concentrated in people over 80 years of age.

The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 1.2 million deaths in more than 49.3 million cases of infection worldwide, according to the latest assessment by the French agency AFP.
