OR Stefan, Swedish Prime Minister Lofven, who was confined as a precaution to the woman after being exposed to a case of contact with the coronavirus, described the situation as “serious”.

The epidemic “is rapidly evolving in the wrong direction,” acknowledged the head of government.

Currently, there have been more than 4,000 new cases, a record number, and five deaths. With 33 dead in two days, the death toll reached 6,002.

The incidence rate of the virus, that is, the number of new cases in relation to the population, increased by 146%, according to data from the World Health Organization (who).

Sweden has followed a different strategy than many other countries in dealing with pandemic, based on recommendations, without lockdown and almost no coercive measures.

After a first wave with a strong balance (more than 5,000 deaths), the country registered good results between July and mid OctoberBut the number of cases subsequently increased again and the number of deaths has also increased in recent days.

Given the situation, the health authorities made new, stricter regional recommendations, asking to limit contacts and avoid closed places. Half of the 21 Swedish regions must comply with these instructions.

A pandemic from COVID-19-19, transmitted by a new coronavirus detected not end of December 2019 in China, has already caused more than 1.2 million deaths in more than 48.1 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet by the France agency Rush.
