Two António Costa government officials are being investigated on suspicion of corruption and influence peddling linked to the national hydrogen plan.
The Minister of Economy and Energy Transition, Pedro Siza Vieira, and the Undersecretary of State for Energy, João Galamba, “are under close surveillance by the judicial and police authorities because they are part of the group of main targets in a criminal investigation that seeks signs of influence peddling and corruption, among other economic and financial crimes, “writes the magazine” Sábado “, in the issue that hits newsstands this Thursday.
In addition to Pedro Siza Vieira and João Galamba, other members of the António Costa Government will also be investigated. According to that magazine, “the Public Ministry has other objectives, such as António Mexia and Manso Neto, former directors of EDP / EDP Renováveis, Carlos Costa Pina, former Secretary of State for Finance and administrator of Galp, and Carlos Martins, president of Martifer.”
“The criminal investigation is already in an advanced stage” and will have started after a complaint sent last year to the Public Ministry, which “essentially alerted to suspicions of favoring business groups” in the project related to the national hydrogen plan, adds the magazine “. Saturday”.
Speaking to “Rádio Observador”, the Ministry of Economy said it was not aware of any investigation that, according to that magazine, is in charge of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigation and the Anti-Corruption Unit of the Judicial Police.
