The Minister of Economy, Pedro Siza Veira, and the Undersecretary of State for Energy, João Galamba, are suspected of corruption and influence peddling, confirmed the TVI.
At stake are the companies associated with the recent launch of the national green hydrogen project.
According to the magazine Saturday, the Public Ministry has other objectives such as António Mexia (EDP), Manso Neto, former directors of EDP / EDP Renováveis, Carlos Costa Pinta, former Secretary of State for Finance and administrator of Galp, and Carlos Martins, president of Martifer.
The investigation, which is already in an advanced stage, arose from an anonymous complaint sent last year to the Public Ministry (MP), which essentially warned of suspicions of favoring business groups, in what is the largest industrial project in the country. Questioned by TVI, the Minister of Economy says that “He is not aware of any investigation to which his name is associated.”

Green hydrogen is the Government’s commitment to achieve the country’s decarbonization goals.
The national strategy for hydrogen as an energy source was approved on July 30 by the Council of Ministers. The government plans to hold “competitive auctions for the production of green hydrogen” to be injected into the gas networks.
The chemical industry is the main client of hydrogen, whose strategy foresees an investment of close to seven billion euros, with the objective that this gas represents 5% of final energy consumption in 2030.
